We received a phone call from Nancee Borgnine of Hollywood Connection on January 2nd. She informed us that she saw the uGOgirlz website and really liked the designs and the message. We were invited to attend the 2007 Night of a 100 Stars Oscar Gala and be a part of the celebrity gift room.
The event was held at the Beverly Hills Hotel on the evening of the Oscars. The atmosphere was buzzing as the celebrities began arriving at the hotel. Inside the gift room we were a little nervous because this was our first big event. But, as soon as the celebrities began to come through and we shared the mission of uGOgirlz we realized that our products and our message were well received. Lou Diamond Phillips liked the message and picked out shirts for his children. I enjoyed giving Miss California our “Dreams Come True” tee, and Richard Dreyfus wrote a quote that he thought we should use on a shirt. Actor John Voight signed a tee for charity and Sasha Cohen enjoyed trying on one of our Kazuri beaded bracelets. Overall we had a wonderful time and the best part was that we got to share uGOgirlz with Hollywood.

Once again we got a phone call from Nancee Borgnine of Hollywood Connection This time she wanted us to go back to LA to be a part of the 2007 NAACP Image Awards. We couldn’t pass up this amazing opportunity to share uGOgirlz and the important message we want to get out. Everything looked fantastic in the celebrity gift room and we anxiously waited for the celebrities to begin arriving. India Arie came into the room and I got that nervous feeling again. But, as soon as I shared the mission of uGOgirlz and she picked out a necklace and put it right on I knew the message was well received. Throughout the evening we heard such positive feedback and were encouraged to continue to spread such a positive message. One of the highlights of the evening was towards the end and we were pretty much out of all the product that we brought. Anika Noni Rose from Dreamgirls came up and really liked the designs. Unfortunately we were out of her size and she asked us to mail her the tees. That was such a big compliment.
